She may have a tear in her eye when the last of her offspring heads out the door later this year, but the new owner of this home will also have something to cheer when she moves into her new jewel box of a home. Downsizing doesn’t need to involve any sacrifices as we proved with this special purchase! After months of looking at various downsizing options, including bungalows, semi’s and townhomes, we spotted this beauty and pounced.
An early afternoon viewing was quickly followed by a dinner-time second viewing where nest-exiting daughter, curious grandma, and supportive brother and nephew all zipped over for a quick ogle before we made an offer that we knew had competition. Luckily, we put our best foot forward, knowing the market and knowing precisely what we were looking for. Several tense hours later, our offer was accepted!
After the initial shock and excitement abated slightly, we began preparing the buyers existing suburban home for sale knowing the upcoming summer was going to bring a lot of change as my buyer and her family enter the next phase of family life. Personally, I’m looking forward to movie nights in the fully-decked-out basement home theatre with surround sound come September! That should take our minds off of our kids away at school at least for the length of a good Top Gun revival!
